Team Langer and Team Woods led wire-to-wire at the PNC Championship. Their tie after 36 holes sent the event to a one-hole playoff.

Both teams reached the green within two strokes, with Team Langer leaving the ball slightly closer to the hole than Team Woods. Charlie attempted an 18-foot putt for eagle and the ball lipped out of the hole, sending the younger Woods to his knees in sorrow. Tiger Woods also missed his putt and it was Team Langer’s turn.

Jason Langer had the win in his pocket, but he could not make the putt. The opposite happened to his father, who made a perfect putt to give his team the win at the PNC Championship. It is the second runner-up finish for Team Woods at the event.

With their score of 28-under, Team Woods and Team Langer broke the PNC Championship scoring record (36 holes). The previous record was 27-under, set by John Daly and his son John II in 2021.

Following his performance in the final round, Tiger Woods had this to say (via ASAP Sports)

“That was the thrill of a lifetime to be able to have that moment with Charlie, make his first hole-in-one, Sam on the bag, just our family and friends. That’s what this event is about. It’s about bonding and family.”

He added:

“For us to have that experience together, I know we didn’t win, but it was the fact that we competed. No one really made a mistake out there. We had to earn it, and that’s what you want to have. Hats off to Langers. They played amazing.”

Both Tiger and Charlie also praised Bernhard Langer’s high level of play at the age of 67.
