NBA star Donovan Mitchell continues to make a powerful impact off the court through his foundation, SPIDACARES. During his annual Donovan Mitchell Basketball Camp, the Cleveland Cavaliers guard presented a $10million check to Inspírica’s “Welcome Home” program, an initiative focused on ending homelessness and helping families secure stable housing.
The donation reflects Mitchell’s longstanding commitment to community service and social justice, aligned with the core values of his foundation and personal motto: D.O.N.—Determination Over Negativity. The funds will help provide transitional housing, critical support services, and financial aid to individuals and families making the transition from homelessness to permanent homes.
“This is about making sure people feel seen, supported, and empowered,” Mitchell said at the event. “Basketball has given me a platform, and I want to use it to help build stronger, safer communities.”
Mitchell was joined by representatives from SPIDACARES and Inspírica, all of whom expressed deep appreciation for the contribution and its potential to change lives. The atmosphere at the camp was filled with excitement, inspiration, and gratitude as the donation was formally presented.
Founded by Donovan Mitchell, SPIDACARES has supported causes ranging from education and youth empowerment to mental health and housing stability. This latest initiative adds to Mitchell’s growing legacy as a changemaker both on and off the court.
As he continues to lead by example, Mitchell proves that true greatness isn’t just measured in points and assists—but in the lives you uplift along the way.
