Here’s the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2025 LIV Golf Chicago event

The LIV Golf season is winding down, and this week the league was outside Chicago at Bolingbrook Golf Club. Chicago is the only city to have hosted a LIV event in each of the first four seasons. The usual cast played for the customary $20 million and it was Dean Burmester defeating Jon Rahm and Josele Ballester on the first hole of a playoff to take home the $4 million winning check.

Burmester, a 36-year-old from South Africa, didn’t have his best stuff on Sunday at Bolingbrook, shooting an even-par 71. Rahm and Ballester both made birdie on the final hole to get into a playoff, where neither was able to make birdie. Burmester calmly rolled in his five-footer for birdie and celebrated appropriately for his second LIV Golf title. Just moments later, his Stinger team (with captain Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace and Charl Schwartzel) won the playoff over Joaquin Niemann’s Torque squad.

Niemann tied for 17th outside Chicago and has been the class of the tour all year, winning an impressive five times in now 12 total events. He’s dominating the individual standings although Rahm gained a little ground this week, despite not winning an event this year. Bryson DeChambeau is third.

On the team side, Rahm’s Legion XIII (with Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt and Tom McKibbin) has won four times and holds the top spot with DeChambeau’s Crushers (three wins) in second and Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs (three wins) in third.

Lock Zone, Open Zone, Drop Zone and seedings for the team championship were all on the line this week. (Lock Zone is the top 24 players guaranteed a contract for 2026; Open Zone is players 25-48 and can stay in the league but their current team is not obligated to extend their contract; Drop Zone is players 49 and below who are vulnerable for relegation.) There is only one more individual event (Indianapolis), then the season ends Aug. 22-24 with the team championship in Michigan.

Here’s the rundown of what each player earned this week in Illinois.
