Pat Perez Breaks Silence on Phil Mickelson’s Alleged Misconduct Involving Ex-Wife

Pat Perez has once again addressed his fractured relationship with Phil Mickelson following renewed attention surrounding allegations made by his former wife, Ashley Perez.

The former PGA Tour player had previously spoken about a serious falling out with Mickelson during a podcast appearance in 2022, though he did not publicly reveal specific details at the time.

“Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable,” Perez said during his appearance on Claude Harmon’s podcast. “He knows he screwed up. He apologized for the action, but I cannot forgive him.”

Recent reports have brought renewed attention to those comments after Ashley Perez publicly alleged that Mickelson behaved inappropriately toward her during a PGA Tour event in 2015.

According to Ashley’s account, the alleged incident occurred while she and Pat Perez were staying with Mickelson during a tournament week in New York. She claimed that Mickelson showed her an explicit photograph and made inappropriate remarks while her then-husband was temporarily away.

Ashley said she initially chose not to tell her husband immediately because she did not want to distract him during the tournament.

Pat Perez has not issued a lengthy new public statement regarding the allegations, but his previous comments have received renewed attention following the publication of the report.

His remarks from 2022 suggest that the incident significantly damaged his relationship with Mickelson.

“He knows he screwed up,” Perez previously stated. “I cannot forgive him.”

Phil Mickelson’s attorney has strongly disputed several of the allegations. Attorney Tom Clare said that some of the claims are “outright false,” while others revisit matters that Mickelson has already addressed publicly or privately.

“Stacking disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible,” the attorney said in a statement.

Mickelson has largely remained out of public view this year while dealing with what he and his family have described as a private family health matter.

The six-time major champion recently withdrew from The Open Championship and has been absent from LIV Golf competition for much of the season.

At this time, the allegations remain disputed, and no criminal charges have been filed against Mickelson.

The renewed attention surrounding Pat Perez’s earlier comments has added another layer to the ongoing controversy, as the golf world continues to follow developments involving one of the sport’s most recognizable figures.

For now, both Perez’s past statements and Ashley Perez’s recent allegations continue to generate discussion throughout professional golf while Mickelson’s future remains uncertain.
