Francesco Molinari Confirmed as Vice-Captain for 2025 Ryder Cup

Francesco Molinari has officially been named a vice-captain for Team Europe at the 2025 Ryder Cup, which will take place at Bethpage Black in New York. The Italian, who played a key role in Europe’s 2018 victory, returns to the team in a leadership role under captain Luke Donald.

Molinari previously served as vice-captain in 2023, when Europe secured a dominant win in Rome. His reappointment signals the trust Donald places in him, not only for his experience on the course but also for his composure and understanding of the team environment.

“It was a huge honour to be a vice-captain last time, and I’m proud to do it again,” Molinari said. “Helping the team from the sidelines was incredibly fulfilling.”

Molinari’s standout Ryder Cup moment came in 2018, when he went 5-0-0 in Paris, becoming the first European player to win five points in a single Ryder Cup. His leadership is expected to help guide a European side looking to win on American soil for the first time since 2012.

The 2025 Ryder Cup will be held from September 26 to 28. Further announcements on vice-captains and player selections are expected in the coming months.
