How Christian Horner thought Liam Lawson performed in US Grand Prix

Christian Horner expressed strong admiration for Liam Lawson’s performance in the United States Grand Prix.

Returning to F1 after a five-race absence in 2023, Lawson impressively scored points despite starting from the back of the grid, following another underwhelming performance by Sergio Perez.

Horner noted, “If you’re battling with Fernando on your first race back, you’re doing well. He drove exceptionally, moving from 19th to ninth.”

This performance adds to discussions about Lawson potentially replacing Perez, who has not met Helmut Marko’s expectations for results.

Lawson stepped in for Daniel Ricciardo, who had a tough outing, failing to outpace Yuki Tsunoda but did secure the fastest race lap.

Starting in 2025, points for the fastest lap will be eliminated, reducing future scoring opportunities.
