Last February, the Denver Nuggets tapped Reggie Jackson in a trade with the LA Clippers. After arriving in the Mile-High City, Jackson appeared in 16 regular season games for the Nuggets, starting twice. He averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 38.3% from the field and 27.9% from beyond the perimeter.

Those stats weren’t enough to get him consistent minutes in the playoffs. The veteran guard logged just three minutes per game in six playoff appearances for Denver as they fought for the NBA championship. With Jackson returning for another season, it will be interesting to see what role he will play with the Nuggets.

Bleacher reports recently suggested that Denver is risking moving Jackson entirely into rookie guard Jalen Pickett’s role.

“Denver, in need of a new Swiss Army knife and without Brown in the equation, should opt for versatility and sign rookie Jalen Pickett as the backup point guard,” Buckley wrote. “The 23-year-old has the handle and bully game to work on both sides of the pick-and-roll, and like Brown, his length, mobility and physicality allow him to play bigger than its size.”

The Nuggets selected Pickett No. 32 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. Last season at Penn State, he averaged 17.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game for the Nuggets Nittany Lions. Reggie Jackson is ready to help the Denver Nuggets in any way possible

While being benched is not what an NBA player imagines, Jackson seems willing to do whatever it takes to help the Nuggets next season.

“This has been an important season for me and for us in general,” Jackson told Jones. “The understanding with which we have to approach the season is that we have a common mark on our backs as a team. But beyond that, I have to do my part and do everything I can to try to make us as successful as possible… My job is to go in and try to steady the ship as much as possible when I continue my mission. game. I think it will be interesting to play with young people. There’s a lot of talent in this locker room. As a second unit, we have to make sure we can get the job done.
