Nuggets are ready to provide a super product for Jamal Murray

Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray never made an All-Star team, but he’s quite the NBA star. Raising his game each season, Murray has proven himself on the biggest stage. Doing the same thing last season, Murray took his game to an even higher level to help Denver win its first NBA championship.

With so many dominant guards in the NBA, breaking through as an All-Star or All-NBA player at the position is very difficult to do. That said, if Murray makes an All-NBA team, the Nuggets are willing to offer him a supermax contract extension for which he qualifies. “We anticipate we’ll probably pay him super big money,” Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth told Sportskeeda’s Mark Medina. “He’ll probably be All-NBA. That will reduce our salary cap, but I like to see guys reach their full potential when they play like he can.”

Ready to give Murray the super prize, the Nuggets knew it would be a tough financial blow, but certainly worth it. Nikola Jokic’s ideal partner, Murray has proven capable of being a very high-level second choice on a championship team. That makes him someone the Nuggets need to keep and it appears they will do so, regardless of the final price.
