Hamilton narrowly passes Verstappen British racing driver Lewis Hamilton took responsibility for impeding three-time defending champion Max Verstappen of the Netherlands during the second practice session of the Formula One Emilia Romagna Grand Prix yesterday.

The seven-time world champion with roots in Grenada said he tried to apologise to Verstappen but was too frustrated after struggling with the balance of his Red Bull car at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari Circuit.
Verstappen encountered a slow-moving Hamilton at the Villeneuve chicane and had to move aggressively across the track to express his displeasure with the Mercedes driver.

In-car footage showed Hamilton holding up his hands in apology, while Verstappen looked frustrated after practice after making a series of uncharacteristic errors that saw him finish a distant seventh on the first day.

“I was on my cool-down lap,” Hamilton said.
I thought I was completely clear and then all of a sudden he was right and I was wrong after all. I tried to apologize but he was too frustrated. '' He introduced a series of upgrades for this GP in hopes of boosting his performance and finished fourth ahead of Mercedes teammate George Russell, after still waiting for his first podium finish. "It was a good start to the weekend," said Hamilton. It looks like we’re a lot closer than we’ve ever been, but we’ll see how it goes (Saturday).

” “I’m really grateful to everyone at the plant for working on these improvements, because we’re seeing improvements.

French Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc takes first place ahead of Australian McLaren driver Oscar Piastri and Japanese RB Racing driver Hiroki Tsunoda.
I finished the session by recording a test lap.
