Mercedes superstar and seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has claimed victory in his latest 2024 race, edging out competitors like Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.
It’s been a mixed year for Hamilton, especially after his high-profile announcement in February that he would be leaving Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025.
Despite this, the British driver has struggled to leave on a high note, with Mercedes’ 2024 car, the W15, continuing to fall short in terms of performance, unable to consistently match the speed of its rivals.
In a recent ranking of the “50 Most Marketable Athletes of 2024,” conducted by SportsPro in partnership with NorthStar Solutions Group, Hamilton earned a prominent spot.
The list evaluates the marketability of athletes in the digital age, focusing on the value they bring to brands beyond superficial metrics.
Hamilton ranked 11th overall, alongside global sports icons like LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Within the world of Formula 1, Hamilton is the most marketable driver, holding the top spot.
His nearest rival in the rankings is Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who comes in at 31st. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is just behind Verstappen in 33rd, while McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri sit at 37th and 46th, respectively.
No other F1 drivers make the top 50, though the extended top 150 list includes Carlos Sainz (58th), George Russell (63rd), and up-and-coming drivers Bianca Bustamante (64th) and Ollie Bearman (101st).
