James still seems motivated.
As your Los Angeles Lakers enter the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season, they are focused solely on trying to regain the NBA title. It’s the only thing that matters to them and they believe they have the roster to do it.
This summer, LA prioritized continuing their core from last season instead of chasing stars, and that should help them this year. They have all-round depth and added versatility that will allow them to take on any team in the league.
Star LeBron James offered some thoughts on his motivation ahead of Tuesday’s season opener against the Denver Nuggets, and he appears to have overshadowed them, if only a little.
“I’m not really motivated by [who] the opponent [is] anymore,” James said after one of the final practices of the Lakers’ training camp before the season begins Tuesday in Denver. “I don’t need it. I don’t want to say that I’m not motivated to compete, because I am motivated to compete, I like to compete with the best. But I don’t need an individual or any individual. a team to motivate me. I’m motivated. I’m enough.”
James has heard all the talk coming from the Nuggets after eliminating the Lakers last season, so he’ll be ready for the game. In his 21st year, there’s no push. he excepts the thought of winning another title.
Denver is just another team in its own right this season, but he’s human, so beating them would be very satisfying. The Lakers have long been waiting for a chance at redemption after being swept in the playoffs, and this season opener against the rival Nuggets could allow them to send a statement.
The two teams are no fans of each other, and NBA planners knew exactly what they were doing when they pitted them against each other to open the new year. This will be must-watch television to kick off the new NBA season, and we’re excited about what this season will bring.
