Lewis Hamilton has extended his F1 contract until age 40, citing Fernando Alonso’s successful return as motivation.

The suspense surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s future in Formula 1 is finally over. On August 31, Mercedes ended all speculation by announcing the iconic British racing driver would extend his tenure with the team until 2025. This means that Hamilton, now 38 years old, will burn tires on F1’s elite tracks until age 38. at least 40.

As fans and pundits eagerly await news of Hamilton’s next move, Mercedes has kept them on guard. Toto Wolff, the team’s principal, has repeatedly hinted that a deal is imminent, although an official announcement has proved more elusive than expected. The waiting game is over just before the adrenaline-filled race weekend at Monza, with Mercedes not only securing Hamilton but also ensuring that George Russell remains in their team alongside them.

The decision to continue running in the fast lane well beyond what many consider the twilight years of an F1 driver’s career naturally raises curiosity. Hamilton, who has never been shy about expressing his gratitude, shared his insights into what drives his perseverance.

It turns out that American football superstar Tom Brady plays an important role as an inspirational figure for him. “Tom Brady is an incredible athlete and has demonstrated the potential of modern sports. He is a trailblazer for athletes everywhere. I had the honor of speaking with him , dig deeper into his diet and understand the secret to its longevity.”
But the impact is not limited to just outside the F1 bubble. Hamilton went on to highlight a familiar face in the grid in a touching moment:

“It’s a joy to see Fernando [Alonso] on track. Making his F1 debut long before me, taking a sabbatical and then coming back, he illustrates that raw talent never fades.”
Hamilton’s new contract is not just an extension of his term as a driver; it is a testament to the age-defying spirit of athletes, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. While Tom Brady and Fernando Alonso served as guiding lights for Hamilton, the British driver himself was an inspiration to countless fans and future drivers, proving that passion, combined with discipline, is ageless.
