The message is being sent by Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr to Denver Nuggets head Coach Michael Malone.

Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone’s father, Brendan Maclean, died on Monday at the age of 81, leaving a legacy. The NBA world sent its condolences to Michael Malone and his family , and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is one of the most recent NBA figures to do so.

“I want to send my condolences to Mike Malone and his family,” Kerr said. “His father, Brendan, passed away yesterday. Brendan has had an incredible impact on the NBA. When I was playing, he was a coach for many years. I mainly remember him because he was on the staff of the Pistons and those championship teams, but it’s a sad day for the NBA and of course for Mike and his family, so just from the Warriors, send our condolences to the Malone family. »

These are very kind words from Kerr, who has a relationship with Michael Malone and, of course, also knew his father. It’s a sad day for the NBA with the passing of Brendan Malone, but it’s incredible to see the outpouring of love the NBA community has for Malone, the Nuggets and everyone who knew the coach from long.

Malone isn’t coaching the Nuggets in tonight’s game against the Suns, but he has the NBA world behind him as he and his family work to overcome this loss.
