The Denver Nuggets remind everyone who Nikola Jokic is

ESPN has now released its full list of the top 100 NBA players entering the new season, and Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic unfortunately did not make the top spot. Second to Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jokic’s historic playoff performance wasn’t enough to earn him the top spot on ESPN’s rankings. Ignoring the perfect reaction to this list, Nuggets shared this photo on Twitter:

No caption needed because the Nuggets just shared this photo showing Jokic holding both the championship trophy and his Finals MVP trophy. Certainly earning the right to be named the best player in the NBA, Jokic is second on ESPN’s list. In its explanation, ESPN wrote the following:

“In this ranking, Jokic is only a few percentage points behind another two-time MVP big man… If he can improve his defense and perhaps be more aggressive with his 3-point shooting — Jokic made 46.1% of his 3-pointers in the playoffs — Jokic can collect Collecting even more hardware, a second consecutive championship and finally first place. in the NBA standings.”

While Antetokounmpo is incredible and always deserves praise and rankings, what Jokic did this past playoff round was unprecedented in many ways. Just as Antetokounmpo was considered the best in the world after the 2021 tournament, Jokic won that title this year until someone knocked him off his throne.
