Top-ranked Scottie Scheffler overwhelmed a back-nine shootout to capture his moment Experts title, taking a four-stroke triumph at Augusta National.
Scheffler, who too took the green coat in 2022, won a record $3.6m best prize after a drama-filled fight on Sunday with individual Americans Collin Morikawa and Max Homa and Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg, who made an noteworthy major make a big appearance.
“I can’t put into words what it implies to win this competition again,” Scheffler said.
Scheffler birdied three of the final six gaps to fire a four-under standard 68 and wrap up 72 gaps over the notorious 7,555-yard format on 11-under 277 with Aberg shooting 69 to wrap up moment on 281.
Two-time major victor Morikawa had a closing 74 to share third on 284 with Homa and England’s Tommy Fleetwood.
“I did my best to remain calm out there. I attempted to remain persistent on the course,” Scheffler said. “Was able to create a few key shots and key putts to keep my circular going.”
