Pat Perez Calls for Action Over Phil Mickelson Allegations Involving Ex-Wife

Pat Perez’s previous comments regarding Phil Mickelson have returned to the spotlight following allegations made by his former wife, Ashley Perez, with the former PGA Tour player suggesting that accountability is necessary.

Perez first addressed his fractured relationship with Mickelson during a podcast appearance in 2022, years before the latest allegations became public. Although he declined to reveal specific details at the time, he made it clear that the situation had permanently damaged their friendship.

“Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable,” Perez said. “He knows he screwed up. He apologised for the action, but I cannot forgive him.”

Recent reports have brought renewed attention to those remarks after Ashley Perez publicly alleged that Mickelson behaved inappropriately toward her during a PGA Tour event in 2015.

According to Ashley’s account, the alleged incident occurred while she and Pat Perez were staying with Mickelson during tournament week. She claimed that Mickelson showed her an explicit photograph and made inappropriate remarks while her then-husband was away.

Ashley said she chose to come forward because she wanted to encourage other women to speak openly about their experiences.

“I want to give other women the courage to share their truth,” she said.

Although Pat Perez has not issued a detailed new public statement regarding the allegations, his previous comments have been interpreted by many as a call for accountability.

“He knows he screwed up,” Perez previously stated, adding that he could not forgive Mickelson for the alleged incident.

Phil Mickelson’s attorney, Tom Clare, has strongly disputed the allegations, stating that some claims are “outright false” while others revisit matters that Mickelson has already addressed privately or publicly.

“Stacking disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible,” Clare said in a statement.

The attorney also emphasized that Mickelson’s current focus is on his family and a private health matter that has kept him away from competition for much of the season.

The controversy comes as Mickelson remains absent from LIV Golf events and after his withdrawal from The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

At this time, the allegations remain disputed, and no criminal charges have been filed against Mickelson.

As discussion surrounding the claims continues, Pat Perez’s earlier comments have resurfaced as one of the strongest public criticisms Mickelson has faced from a fellow professional golfer.

The situation continues to generate debate throughout the golf world, with questions remaining about Mickelson’s future and the lasting impact of the allegations.
