Pat Perez’s Ex-Wife Takes Action Following Phil Mickelson Allegations

Ashley Perez, the former wife of PGA Tour player Pat Perez, has taken further action after publicly sharing allegations involving Phil Mickelson, saying she hopes her decision to speak out will encourage others to come forward with their own experiences.

The allegations, which were recently detailed in a published report, center on an alleged incident involving Mickelson during a PGA Tour event in 2015. Ashley claims that inappropriate behavior occurred while she and her then-husband were staying with the six-time major champion during tournament week.

According to Ashley, she decided to come forward after years of remaining silent about the alleged incident.

“I want to give other women the courage to share their truth,” she said.

Ashley explained that one of her main motivations for speaking publicly was to encourage accountability and to challenge what she described as a culture in which prominent athletes are often protected from criticism.

“We give these golfers so much adulation and money, they think they’re untouchable,” she said. “Being a professional athlete doesn’t exempt you from behaving respectfully in society.”

Her decision to publicly discuss the allegations has generated significant attention throughout the golf world and has renewed interest in comments previously made by her former husband, Pat Perez.

In 2022, Pat Perez stated that Mickelson had “crossed the line” and described the incident as “uncrossable and unforgivable.”

Phil Mickelson’s attorney, Tom Clare, has strongly disputed many of the allegations. He stated that some claims are false, while others revisit matters that Mickelson has already addressed privately or publicly.

“Stacking disputed claims next to matters he has already acknowledged does not make them credible,” Clare said.

The attorney also emphasized that Mickelson is currently focused on his family and a private health matter that has kept him away from professional golf for much of the season.

Ashley’s decision to speak publicly has coincided with increased scrutiny surrounding Mickelson, who recently withdrew from The Open Championship and has remained absent from LIV Golf competition.

At this time, the allegations remain disputed, and no criminal charges have been filed against Mickelson.

Ashley has maintained that her purpose in speaking out is not personal revenge but rather encouraging openness and accountability.

As the controversy continues, her decision to come forward has become one of the central developments in the ongoing discussion surrounding the allegations against one of golf’s most recognizable figures.
