Jon Rahm walked away with the biggest payday at the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship after claiming a record sixth Rolex Series title at Yas Links.
The Spaniard produced a superb final-round 67 to finish on 23-under par, two shots clear of Tyrrell Hatton, who collected €885,281.76 for his runner-up finish.
Rahm’s victory earned him a huge €1,368,162.72 winner’s cheque, adding another significant payday to his career earnings and giving him renewed hope of capturing a second Race to Dubai title next week.
Hatton finished second on 21-under par after signing for a closing 68, while Rory McIlroy took third place on 19-under par following a final-round 69.
The win sees Rahm vault to sixth in the Race to Dubai standings, giving him late hope of crashing McIlroy’s Race to Dubai party.
Rahm is also now an 11-time winner on the European Tour.
McIlroy collected €507,025.01 for his efforts, although the World No.2 will be more concerned with the Race to Dubai standings as he targets an historic eighth season-long title at next week’s DP World Tour Championship.
The Ulsterman bumped himself up from third to second as a result of his solo third at Yas Links.
Italian Francesco Laporta secured fourth place on 17-under-par and earned €402,400.80, while a three-way tie for fifth saw Angel Ayora, Bernd Wiesberger and David Puig each take home €288,118.97.

The Spaniard remains top of the Race to Dubai standings heading into the season finale, where he will attempt to hold off McIlroy, Rahm and the chasing pack to secure the season-long title.
Patrick Reed finished tied 43rd on 4-under-par after a closing 69, earning €44,264.09, and the American can still capture his first Race to Dubai at third in the rankings entering Jumeirah Golf Estates.
