The Minnesota Timberwolves have made an impressive return to the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive season, led by rising superstar Anthony Edwards.
However, after Thursday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, they now find themselves in a 2-0 series hole heading into Game 3, which shifts back to Minnesota on Saturday night.
Before the pivotal matchup, the NBA made a major announcement on Friday evening: Edwards has been named to the All-NBA Second Team. He joins Jalen Brunson, LeBron James, Evan Mobley, and Stephen Curry on the elite list.

The Timberwolves quickly celebrated the honor, posting on social media, “WELL DESERVED.”
Anthony Edwards has quickly emerged as one of the faces of the NBA, thanks to his electrifying play and charismatic personality both on and off the court.
This season, he posted career highs across the board—averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 44.7% from the field and an impressive 39.5% from three-point range.
In the postseason, Edwards has been the driving force behind Minnesota’s success, leading the Timberwolves past both the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors in the first two rounds.

Despite putting up 32 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in Game 2 on Thursday night, Edwards struggled from beyond the arc, going just 1-for-9 and 12-for-26 overall from the field—inefficiency that won’t cut it against the NBA’s top-ranked defense.
As history shows, Game 3 on Saturday is crucial. No team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series, making it a must-win situation for the Timberwolves if they hope to keep their title hopes alive.
