Scottie Scheffler has secured a staggering $23 million FedExCup bonus after his dominant victory at the FedEx St Jude Championship put the World No.1 beyond reach in the season-long standings.
Scheffler entered the FedExCup Playoffs with a commanding lead and made the most of it at TPC Southwind, storming to an eight-shot victory on Sunday. The result means he cannot be caught at the top of the standings during this week’s BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in Missouri.
Whatever happens in St Louis, the 30-year-old American will therefore arrive at next week’s Tour Championship as the FedEx Cup leader – and with the biggest bonus already guaranteed.
The $23 million reward is made up of $22 million in bonus money and $1 million in deferred money, underlining the enormous value of finishing the regular season at the top of the standings.
A deferred bonus payment means a portion of a player’s season-long bonus money is placed directly into their PGA Tour retirement or pension account rather than being paid out as immediate cash.
Scheffler has now won twice on the PGA Tour this season and as a result of his consistency has earned an incredible $20,511,275 in official PGA Tour prize money during the campaign, before his FedExCup bonus is added on top of that.
He has therefore already banked more than $43.5 million on the PGA Tour this season, and still has both the BMW Championship and Tour Championship left to play.
The 21-time PGA Tour winner is also now closing in on Tiger Woods’ longstanding PGA Tour career earnings record, something he can break with a solo third or better at Bellerive this week.
The battle for the remaining positions in FedEx Cup bonus money is far more open.
Second place in the FedExCup standings after the BMW Championship this Sunday is worth a combined $13 million, while third receives $8 million. Fourth will earn $6.5 million and fifth $5.4 million.
Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young, Si Woo Kim and Wyndham Clark round out the top five in the standings ahead of the BMW.
Rory McIlroy, a record three-time winner of the FedEx Cup, is down in 13th position as it stands, which would secure him $810,000.

The player finishing 30th and taking the final spot in the Tour Championship will receive a combined $460,000.
Even players who finished 51st to 125th in points on the FedEx Cup will also receive bonuses, ranging from$195,000 down to$100,000.
The FedExCup bonus structure was changed in 2025 after the PGA Tour removed the Starting Strokes format from the Tour Championship.
All 30 players now begin the season-ending event on an even score, rather than receiving different starting positions based on their FedExCup ranking.
The bonus money remains separate from the Tour Championship purse at East Lake next week.
This year’s 30-man finale carries a $40 million purse, with $10 million going to the winner.
