Rahm was asked directly about his future before revealing what he is most looking forward to after LIV Golf’s season finale.
Jon Rahm may not know exactly where he will be playing beyond this season, but he knows one thing for certain: he desperately needs a haircut.
The former World No.1 was asked about his LIV Golf future after completing another hugely successful season at LIV Golf Indianapolis, but rather than provide any major clues, Rahmrevealed that his immediate priority was getting home to his family — and then getting himself to the barber.
“I’m mainly looking forward to a haircut tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. because I need one badly,” Rahm joked.
Behind the light-hearted answer, however, lies a major question over the Spaniard’s future.
Rahm finished runner-up and one shot behind winner Michael La Sasso at LIV Golf Indianapolis, but his Legion XIII team did at least secure team honours for a second straight season with a six-shot victory.
The two-time major champion also won the Individual Championship for a third straight season.
Yet despite all his success on the LIV Golf League the past three seasons, speculation continues over whether Rahm will remain on the league in its new 2.0 structure of less events and reduced prize purses.
The league’s future beyond 2026 remains uncertain as LIV works on a new investment deal with BC Partners, while reports have suggested a number of high-profile players could be considering their options.
According to Monday Q Info on X, Rahm is reportedly still owed around $150 million from the multi-year contract he signed with LIV in late 2023.
Recent rumours have also claimed Rahm is unhappy with life on LIV and could be heading for the exit, with Legion XIII teammate Tyrrell Hatton also linked with a potential departure.
Rahm was asked by a reporter following LIV Golf Indianapolis on Sunday: “What are the main things you’re looking for as you decide what your future will hold?”
The Spaniard did not commit either way.
Instead, he revealed that his wife is expecting the couple’s fourth child in October and that his immediate focus is helping at home with their three children.
“I’m looking forward to going home and helping my very pregnant wife with the kids because it’s a 3-v-1 right now. It’s probably a 4-v-1 with the one that’s due in October,” Rahm said.
“Happy to be dad for a few days before I get back for the Irish Open.”
Rahm is expected to play several DP World Tour events before the end of the year, beginning with next month’s Irish Open from 10-13 September.
His longer-term future could include a stunning return to the PGA Tour in 2027, although nothing has been confirmed.
For now at least, Rahm’s golf future remains up in the air. His hair, on the other hand, has a very clear itinerary. Monday, 10 a.m., sharp.
