LIV Golf has released an official statement after Phil Mickelson announced he is temporarily stepping away from the league to focus on personal matters.

Mickelson, one of LIV Golf’s founding stars and biggest names, recently confirmed his decision to take a break from professional competition amid ongoing personal challenges and public scrutiny.

Responding to the news, LIV Golf expressed its support for the six-time major champion and said the organization respects his decision.

“Phil Mickelson has informed us of his decision to temporarily step away from LIV Golf to focus on personal and family matters,” the statement read.

The league also thanked Mickelson for his contributions since joining LIV Golf in 2022.

LIV Golf added that there is currently no timetable for Mickelson’s return but emphasized that the door remains open whenever he is ready.

“We look forward to welcoming Phil back whenever he feels prepared to return to competition. Until then, our thoughts remain with him and his loved ones.”

Mickelson’s decision comes after he withdrew from The Open Championship and announced that his immediate focus would be on his family and personal well-being.

The golf legend has faced increasing public attention in recent weeks, with his legal team continuing to dispute allegations made against him.

Despite his temporary absence, LIV Golf reaffirmed its confidence in the veteran golfer and wished him well during his time away.
