LIV Golf has responded after becoming the subject of a $1 million lawsuit filed by Canadian technology company Mobii Systems Group Limited over an alleged breach of contract and unpaid invoices.
In a statement addressing the legal dispute, LIV Golf acknowledged the disagreement but indicated that it is reviewing the claims through the appropriate legal process.
The league maintained that its recent business decisions were part of a broader evaluation of its operations, partnerships and long-term cost structure as it continues to evolve.
The lawsuit alleges LIV Golf failed to pay more than $925,000 in licensing and usage fees connected to the technology behind its “Any Shot, Any Time” broadcast feature. Mobii is also seeking additional damages, bringing the total claim to more than $1 million.
Despite the legal action, LIV Golf emphasized that the dispute is not a reflection of the quality of Mobii’s services. According to correspondence referenced in the lawsuit, the league thanked the company for its partnership while acknowledging that payment delays had strained the relationship.
The legal challenge comes just days before LIV Golf returns to competition in England, where attention is expected to shift back to the golf course following a turbulent week that also saw Bryson DeChambeau involved in controversy at The Open Championship.
As the case moves forward, LIV Golf has not indicated any changes to its tournament schedule and is expected to continue normal operations while defending its position in court.
