Scottie Scheffler was not the only person celebrating a massive payday after his victory at the 2026 Tour Championship.
While Scheffler collected the eye-watering $10 million winner’s prize at East Lake and secured his second FedEx Cup title, his longtime caddie Ted Scott is also estimated to have earned a fortune from the victory.
The exact financial agreement between Scheffler and Scott has never been publicly disclosed. However, the traditional PGA Tour caddie payment structure often sees a caddie receive around 10% of a player’s winnings for a victory.
If Scheffler and Scott operate under a similar arrangement, Scott could have earned approximately $1 million from the Tour Championship victory alone.
And that is only part of an extraordinary season for the veteran looper.
Scheffler’s dominant 2026 campaign has produced massive earnings throughout the year, and estimates suggest Scott’s tournament-performance bonuses could now stand at around $2.58 million for the seasonafter the Tour Championship triumph. That figure does not include any weekly salary, endorsement income or additional private bonuses.
Scheffler’s East Lake victory capped another remarkable season. The world No. 1 overturned a three-shot final-round deficit to Viktor Hovland, firing a four-under 66 to win by three strokes and claim the $10 million first prize.
The victory also pushed Scheffler past Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour’s all-time career earnings list, with his official career earnings reaching more than $130 million.
For Ted Scott, the latest victory is another reminder that carrying the bag for the best golfer in the world can be an extremely lucrative job.
