Ashley Perez Calls for Justice as Phil Mickelson Allegations Continue to Draw Attention

Ashley Perez says she is determined to see accountability after coming forward with allegations against six-time major champion Phil Mickelson, insisting that those who speak out deserve to be heard.

Perez, the former wife of PGA Tour golfer Pat Perez, recently shared details of an alleged incident she claims took place during a tournament week in 2015. According to her account, Mickelson allegedly showed her an explicit photograph and made inappropriate comments while her then-husband was briefly away.

Explaining why she decided to speak publicly after so many years, Perez said her motivation goes beyond her own experience.

“We deserve justice,” she said. “For too long, people have been afraid to speak because of who Phil Mickelson is.”

Perez has also said she hopes her decision to come forward will inspire others to tell their own stories if they have experienced similar situations.

“I want to give other women the courage to share their truth,” she previously said.

Her allegations have revived interest in comments made by Pat Perez, who revealed in a 2022 podcast that Mickelson had “crossed the line” with him in a way he considered “uncrossable and unforgivable.”

Phil Mickelson’s legal team has strongly denied many of the allegations. Attorney Tom Clare said several claims are “outright false,” while others concern matters Mickelson has already addressed publicly or privately.

“Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible,” Clare said. “It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative.”

The attorney also stressed that Mickelson’s current priority is his family and a private health matter that has kept him away from professional golf this season.

Mickelson recently withdrew from The Open Championship and has remained largely out of the public spotlight.

At this time, the allegations remain disputed, and no criminal charges have been filed against the LIV Golf star.

Despite the legal pushback, Perez says she remains committed to seeing the allegations properly addressed.

“We deserve justice,” she reiterated, expressing hope that greater accountability will encourage others to come forward without fear.
