Ashley Perez Seeks Justice Over Allegations Against Phil Mickelson

Ashley Perez, the former wife of golfer Pat Perez, has renewed her call for accountability after publicly accusing Phil Mickelson of inappropriate conduct during an alleged incident in 2015.

Perez, who recently came forward with her account, said her decision to speak publicly was motivated by a desire to seek justice and encourage others to share their own experiences.

“We deserve justice,” Perez said, adding that she believes those who come forward with allegations should be heard and treated fairly.

According to Perez, the alleged incident occurred during a PGA Tour event in New York when she and her then-husband were staying with Mickelson. She claims that while Pat Perez briefly left the room, Mickelson showed her an explicit photograph and made inappropriate remarks.

Ashley said she initially chose not to tell her husband immediately because she did not want to distract him during tournament week. Years later, she decided to speak publicly, saying she hopes her story will empower others.

“I want to give other women the courage to share their truth,” she previously said.

Her allegations have reignited attention on comments made by Pat Perez in 2022, when the former PGA Tour professional said Mickelson had “crossed the line” and described the incident as “uncrossable and unforgivable.”

Phil Mickelson’s legal team has vigorously denied many of the allegations.

His attorney, Tom Clare, has stated that several of the claims are “outright false,” while others revisit matters that Mickelson has already acknowledged publicly or privately.

“Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible,” Clare said in a statement. “It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative.”

The attorney also said Mickelson is currently focused on his family and a private health matter that has kept him away from professional golf for much of the season.

Mickelson recently withdrew from The Open Championship and has remained absent from competition amid the ongoing controversy.

At this time, Ashley Perez’s allegations remain disputed, and no criminal charges have been filed against Phil Mickelson.

As the situation continues to unfold, Perez says her goal is accountability and justice for those who believe their voices have gone unheard.

“We deserve justice,” she said.
