Tiger Woods Makes Exciting Announcement as He Shares Major Update on New Golf Course

Tiger Woods has given golf fans an exciting glimpse into his latest course design project, confirming that the highly anticipated Legacy Course at Diamante Cabo San Lucas has reached a major milestone ahead of its planned opening in early 2027.

The 15-time major champion shared the first official images of the oceanfront course on Instagram, revealing that the layout has entered its grassing-in phase—a key step in the construction process.

Woods, whose TGR Design team has spent years developing the course alongside the Diamante team, expressed his excitement about the progress.

“I’m pleased to share a first early look at Legacy Course, our newest course design at Diamante,” Woods wrote.

“Cabo is a special place and working alongside Ken Jowdy and the Diamante team over the years has been especially rewarding.”

The golf legend explained that the course has been carefully designed to provide an enjoyable yet challenging experience for golfers of every ability.

“Legacy Course was designed to challenge golfers of every skill level while creating an experience they’ll remember long after the round,” Woods said.

“From the routing to the strategy and the natural landscape, every detail was carefully considered. I’m proud of what we’ve created together and can’t wait for golfers to experience it in the near future.”

The Legacy Course is the newest addition to the 1,500-acre Diamante Cabo San Lucas development in Mexico and has been described as an “oasis in the desert.”

The luxury development will feature not only the championship golf course but also custom residences, villas and condominiums, creating one of North America’s most exclusive golf communities.

Diamante founder and CEO Ken Jowdy believes the project will offer a unique golfing experience.

“By bringing together an exclusive Tiger Woods-designed course and a truly limited membership, we are creating the most intimate, personalized golf experience at the highest level in Cabo,” Jowdy said.

According to Forbes, membership at the Legacy Club is expected to require an initial fee of around $300,000, with annual dues reportedly costing approximately $60,000.

The project also marks an important milestone for Woods, as 2026 celebrates the 10th anniversary of his TGR Design business, which continues to expand with golf course projects around the world.

Although Woods remains sidelined from competitive golf following his March car crash and subsequent legal issues, he has continued to focus on growing his golf course design portfolio.

The 50-year-old is expected to miss next week’s Open Championship and has not competed on the PGA Tour since The Open at Royal Troon in 2024.

While there is still no timetable for his return to professional golf, Woods’ latest update shows that one of the biggest projects of his post-playing career is moving steadily toward completion, with golfers expected to tee it up at the Legacy Course in early 2027.
